We’re enhancing workplace wellbeing through the science of happiness.
Pioneers of empowerment
At Happence, we believe in nurturing wellness every day, in every area of life – not just when there’s a problem.
We spend one third of our lives at work, facing challenges, dealing with stress and meeting demands. But what if the workplace became a source of support and empowerment?
Happence was built on the knowledge that, by proactively promoting people’s mental health, you can unlock the productivity-enhancing power of a happy, healthy workforce.
Our team of neuroscientists and experts are paving the way for a new kind of workplace wellbeing: one that helps individuals, teams and leaders thrive in all aspects of their lives.

With over 34 years of experience working in psychiatry for the NHS and in private practice, our founder-CEO Dr Stephen Pereira sought to revolutionise workplace wellbeing.
And so, Happence happened. In 2015, he pioneered a programme to help CEOs fulfil their potential. Our wellbeing stories
Here’s how we stay happy and healthy at Happence…
John-Paul Kalaka

I get out in nature with the dog everyday for half an hour. It keeps me happy.
Anne Michener
Lead Researcher
Tennis and table tennis keep me resilient!
Leon Outar
Neuropsychology Practitioner
I exercise regularly, eat a nutrient-dense diet, practice mindfulness and deep breathing, listen to my favourite music and inject humour into my day as much as possible! A day without laughter is a day wasted.
Tim Sagar
Senior Animator
I enjoy painting, drawing and playing the guitar as well as cooking, going for walks and learning Qi Gong.
Madeline Newman
Head of Innovation & Product
A walk on the beach or in a park (rain or shine) helps to destress and declutter my mind.
Lucy Walker
Research Coordinator
To look after my mental health, I like to listen to guided meditations on self-love and positivity, and write daily gratitude lists.
Paul Morrison
Chief Operating Officer
Aside from walking the hound I am also known to attempt a spot of golf. This does very little to reduce my stress and anxiety levels but oddly enough still makes me happy.
Karen Murrell
Office Support & HR Officer
I do some form of exercise every day, like dancing to music I love from my younger years that’s given me lots of happy memories.
Alex Martin

To look after my mental health, I play music! Be it on guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, drums.
